FMARD

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development regulates agricultural research, agriculture and natural resources, forestry and veterinary research all over Nigeria.

The mandate of the Ministry is to be a significant net provider of food to the global community, through the promotion of Agricultural Development and Management of National Resources in a value-chain approach to achieve sustainable food security, enhance farm income and reduce poverty.

NEPC / Partner highlights

  • Capacity building workshop on fish/animal production for export
  • Partnership with NEPC to host ApiExpo2018 – a Bee Trade show to promote African bee products in the international market and the growth and supply of quality bee products from Africa
  • Member, Inter-Ministerial Committee on Food Rejects of Nigerian products – The Committee is to ensure consistent and stringent management of all exportable products
  • Partnership on the STDF 172 on Shea butter and Sesame Seed – the project goal was to achieve quality control and food safety of these commodities
